Great news that they all hatched  :)  My dad was doing some road work this summer and found a bunch of turkey eggs in the ditch that were going to get run over by a dozer. He saved them for a friend of ours, but when it came time to hatch they weren’t able to break the shell all the way and they didn’t make it.

It’s neat when you’re out fishing and you spot these little ones sunning on top of the shells of bigger turtles.

Thanks Nick and Jan, yep all the eggs hatched, we had the nest covered the whole time or the skunks dig them up.
Jan i believe they bury themselves in the mud on the lake floor all winter.

Cool beans Lenn  :)

Assume they´re coldblooded, and hibernates somewhere during wintertime?

Cute little guys, we used to love finding them at the cabin as kids and keeping them as pets for a couple days. Will have to show my wife the video when she gets home... Did all the eggs hatch? Looks like you had quite a few there.

A painted turtle lays some eggs in the yard a few months ago and they hatched today.
We took them to the lake and let them loose.  :)
