Hi Bruce, the brass outer shell is 5" in diameter. There is a small layer of insulation between the brass outer sleeve and the boiler vessel. I'll look for more pictures of it or take some more. I found a picture of the other similar boiler.

Interesting...may I ask what the diameter of the boiler is ? More photos would be great as well.

This is a nice boiler rig.

I have 2 of this type so this one can go to a new home.

I will sell it at Coolspring (October 14-17)  if it doesn't sell here first.

Features:

• 2 brass steam throttle valves piped to the steam dome
• Pressure switch for heater control
• 1500 watt Ogden immersion heater
• Heater power on lamp
• Site glass
• 2 safety relief valves
• Check valve to pipe a hand pump to
• Pressure gauge
• 120 volts
• Works great!
• Boiler vessel 18" long
• Length overall 24"
• Stout piece of hardware weighs about 35 lbs dry.
