Great collection Dennis!! Thanks for sharing 8)
I think the green on the UK one looks way too bright compared to the original... I was wondering about the decal? Could it be what you mentioned above?
It is made/assembled by Auckland Model Engineers at a later stage from some Cranko parts and some made .
Could it be a later “Auckland Model Engineers” roller using Cranko parts and painted a brighter green and taken off the “Movie Models” part on the decal? To me the decal looks deliberately painted over on that part...?? And if “restoring” you wouldn’t do such a good job saving the top half only to paint over the bottom...
Also noting that the flywheel spokes are black, just like your Auckland Model Engineers stationary... or maybe I’m just making a bunch of crap up from a complete guess? :D

You do know Dennis, some folks considered finding variations of a single item to constitute a whole collection in its own right.
I think you're there!
Cranko's in any form, are a true unicorn over on this side of the pond.

i recently repatriated a Cranko from Aussie to NZ via eBay
Well it arrived today after stalling at Melbourne for a while waiting for some wings .
I went to put it in the cabinet and buggar I already have 1 or 2 or ...
The green and brown on the left is the first variation has SV but no filler bung and just a brass engine frame from mobiles .
All brown is second and has a cast engine frame and a filler bung
Both burners are the same .
Light blue is a basically same as all brown but a different burner and shorter chimney .
Now the burner has slides on the top and funnel at back ??
Why ?? Well because it was originally built for the Loco And it would appear he used what was on hand
3 have Cranko in a diamond stamped in
The last one bright red and green is a Cranko but only sort of .
It is made/assembled by Auckland Model Engineers at a later stage from some Cranko parts and some made .
