Definitely a Falk. I had a smaller version with similar gearing.

I gifted mine to a friend.

I can’t find any pictures in my archives.

It is a rare Falk, the more common Tin base though. They had this same model in a solid Cast Iron base.

Thanks for confirming Mike, cast iron base, that would be a heavy beast of a toy!

You´re most likely spot on Nick, i have little to no knowledge when it comes to older German steam toys  :)

Walter @Damnfmaschine taught me about the alternating brick pattern

Here’s a smaller Josef Falk that I have, note the same sight glass, brick pattern and nearly identical engine

Neat find Jan, maybe those catalogs are older than this engine as most of the engine says Falk to me...

Just googled a bit over here...

Meiser & Mertig were a manufacturer/wholesaler of Physics and Chemistry teaching aids. They did make a small electric trainset for Bing, and had several Bing engines in their own assortment as well.
Have not been able to find this exact engine, but am certain that someone way more knowledgeable than i, will be able to identify the details on this engine, and thereby the exact manufacturer...if it hasn´t already been done.

That would certainly be a nice feature to have, and I can't think of any other set-up like that which I've ever seen, though it seems likely there must be something else similar out there beyond my limited knowledge base.

Seems Nick may well be onto something with his good eye for spotting details and his Falk suggestion.

Thanks. One thing I for to mention is the generator is gear driven.  It has a lever to engage and disengage it from engine.

I would say made by Falk with the half bricks used on every other row

It sort of has the look of an early Fleischmann about it to my eye, but am otherwise unfamiliar with that brand.

Anyone have any info on this engine? A friend of mine got it off Ebay and is looking for some info on it. Thanks
