Here's another variation of the lathe bump tool with just two bearings pressed onto a piece of drill rod. Pretty simple to make.
Works well if you have a tool holder with the notch for holding round objects.

G'day Charlie, really really simple mate.
I just used a piece of 10mm x 10mm steel with a hole drilled in the end for the size of the bolt through the bearing.
Bearing is a large 32mm diameter one that I had in my spares box.

Looks like it works fine.
I made mine out of a steady rest roller. I milled a flat so I could clamp it in my QCTP.

I think you'll be really happy to have that Frank. I made one in the long ago, though I don't quite remember where I got the idea for it. Might have been from Dean Williams, back when he was an active member of the other Forum. His website probably has a build thread on it, or at least a recommendation for it. In any case, it will get you close to good positioning far faster than manual indexing with a gauge will, though for ultimate precision, you should probably do a final finish on any set-up by checking with an indicator, just to be sure.
