You must be pleased with the outcome , it looks (now) as if its always been kept in good condition, another fine steam plant saved 😄 & runs like a "Swiss" watch.

Your patience and effort have been well-rewarded.

Hi Steamers, got a Märklin 4137 (Ebay) in bad condition. First I thought the Boiler is okay - but it was overheated and I had to do several
repairs. Specially the waterlevel had bad threads. Most of the parts were missing and I had to make them from scratch. The original
Märklin thread is 7,8 mm with 0,8 mm pitch. With my Lathe it was easy to make this precisely. Only the steampipe gave 1 Day of work.
The Handles are made from real Ebony. This wood is extremely hard and brittle. The Boiler House has these very nice "Cathedrale-Windows"
(8 on ea. Side) The Rust was removed very softly to keep the patina. After all I am happy with the result of the rebirth...
