Two are on ebay now. Listed the links in the forsale section as well.
-
I was planning on that Charlie. 😁 I know that there are a ton of collectors out there and may not be on any forums. Forum members can reach me just about anytime, that's the bonus about being on forums!😁
-
Jed:
Please let us know when you post the first eBay listing.
Charlie

Wonderful work better than original - well done!
-
Thanks!
Rog, the brass buffed up real nice!
-
Jed, your boiler work is better than any factory original...you must do a lot of burnishing before plating is done.
Simply gorgeous stuff.
Roger
-
They look marvelous Jed, nice work !
-
Spectacular Jed.
👏👏👏👏👏
-
One more!
-
First boilers that have been plated are back! Very happy!
-
Great looking work!
-
Thanks Gil! The best has yet to come!
-
Jed, this is awesome....!!!!!
Gil
-
Another boiler has hit the plating pile!
-
Thanks Charlie! No full time job Nick. I'm not that popular! Lol
-
Looks ike you found a new full-time job Jed! ;)
-
Been at it all weekend!
-
Good to hear you've gone into "production" ;)
Yes, very good to hear Jed.
I have enjoyed following the thread.
Thanks for posting the updates.

-
Yes, a little stressful, but all is well. Nick, if anything were to happen, I can always make more. As a matter of fact, I just started making more.
-
Two boilers have been shipped out for plating.
Must be a bit worrying sending them out after spending all that time on them. Hope everything goes well and can't wait to see them nickeled 8)

Steam test has been completed on the 5" long boiler. Video is on youtube and came out a little ya know...cockeyed. Stupid phones.
-
These boilers fill a much needed niche , you should have no problem selling all that you can produce 👍
-
Does it look like jewelry to you? I must say that even I am impressed! I never thought I could do it. Who needs a new boiler??? May make some with HottWatt heaters and the newer tube gauge from Jensen. I would try to silver braze those boilers.
-
Beautiful work Jed, can't wait to see what they look like after plating 8)
-
5" and 6" side by side! 5" all done! Off to nickle plating after leak check.
-
getting to be quite the master craftsman Jed (& I knew you when...lol) really fine work my friend !
-
5 inch long boiler build underway!
-
Nick, I haven't checked to see how long it takes this engine to stop running once the plug has been pulled. I know it takes awhile.
-
Thank you Jed, now we can really see your work good 8)
And I definitely hope there will be more boilers ;)
I cannot believe how well that engine runs too, it looks like you nearly have the steam line closed off and it's still going fast.

Another view.
-
Boiler front plate.
-
Yes! And plenty of projects. Way too many.
-
Thanks Nick. I didn't realize the video was vertical. I will give it a whirl!
No worries Jed, your videos are good, I just like an even larger view ;) Holding your phone sideways should be all that's needed to fill the screen.
I see plenty of projects in the background as well!
-
Thanks Nick. I didn't realize the video was vertical. I will give it a whirl!
-
Jed, no need to apologize for another video of a fine old Jensen in steam ;) I do have to make one suggestion, please turn your phone horizontal (landscape) when filming, so we can get an even better/larger view of your work ;)
Haha I find myself waving into the shiny boiler endcap every once in awhile when filming too :D
And very nice work on those rivets above! Will look amazing when plated 8)
-
Another view!
-
Superb work.
-
Like I say, I have OCD.

Looking awesome, Jed...!!!

Really enjoying this Jed! And like Bruce said, Jensen needs you ;)
-
As always, thanks Bruce!
-
A view that you will never see again. A preliminary rivet leak check. This is the test riveted boiler build.
-
Geez laweez Jed ,outstanding work you have done, Tom Sr. Would have hired you in a minute. Matter of fact, I beleive Jensen would make a spot for you now.
One of the finest boiler "saves" I've ever witnessed.

Inside view.

This is my first test.
Then the 5" long 2 1/2 dia boiler.
-
From what I can see, just soldered.
-
Are the rivets just soldered in place and not hammered on the inside? Thanks for sharing Your build
-
Nice Work Jed! 8) And I can't wait to see the reproduction boiler...
Those early 25's without the reverser sure are smooth runners
-
Charlie, I made my own out of thicker gasket material. Something I bought from NAPA.
-
Nice job Jed.
What size gaskets did you use on the sight glass?

Great work! I will be watching this thread with interest and anticipation. Thanks for posting progress.
-
Never a dull moment at your place, Jed!
Looking forward to seeing how you install the rivets on this boiler.
crazydoug
Doug, I most likely won't show how I do this. It will be rather crude in terms of locating and drilling the holes. I do not have an indexing head, so it will be doing the math and laying them out.

-
Lower bushing soldered back in along with the top. I even pulled the dent back out of the top.
-
Rare inside view of the boiler.
-
As you can see in the picture, I am holding the steam line bushingbback into it's original position.
-
This may be hard to make out, but here is a 6" long boiler that I also worked on.
-
Ha ha Bruce! I had nothing to do with this boiler. Too bad, an original destroyed! Had to be a very early Tom Jensen Sr. built boiler. It makes me sad.
-
Smart & quality work for sure Jed, but why did you have to go shoot the boiler with a pellet rifle....lol
-
It hasn't been a dull moment at my house for a long time Rog. Between Stuarts and Jensens, it's a full house! My brain is always going.
-

Jed, you make really nice stuff. Those Jensen boiler fittings are equal or better looking than the originals, and as Nick notes, it's nice that someone on the forum can still make such parts not available elsewhere.
Roger
-
I was lucky Nick! The owner of the 5" also sent along a 6" that had the bushings knocked out and in good shape so that I could reproduce them. Let's just say that Tom Jensen Sr. knew how not to waste and make things production minded. Don't worry, this is only the first boiler build!
-
Nice work so far Jed, and good to see that someone here is able to make parts that are no longer available for Jensen engines. 8)
-
These are the boiler bushings I copied for a Jensen riveted boiler.
-
Small progress.
-
This is a 2.5 inch by 5 inch, riveted Jensen boiler. As you can see from the pictures, there is no way that this boiler will ever see service again.
-
Last one for now.
-
More.
-
Sorry, just getting used to the new site.
-
Well, here it is!
-
Give us a clue mate.
-
Something just arrived from a friend. I was going to start this in the restoration topic, but upon further inspection, what I am going to do is a full build from scratch. I'm not sure how this will go over with some collectors, but what I will be building is a replacement/reproduction.
I already have a few hours into researching materials, calculations, and basic construction. If I don't get too wrapped up into trying to get this completed in a timely manner, I will take as many pictures as I can.
