Your welcome, Daniel. One of my main hobbies is RC boats, so I spend time on the RCGroups boats forum. I saw the sellers for sale post, and after 3 or 4 days with no one responding to his ad, I sent a PM to the seller and told him he may have better luck on this forum. After a few days more days went by and he did not post to this forum, I just went ahead and posted the link to his ad. I thought someone here might have interest. Glad I could help a seller and buyer get together.

Tip of the hat and a great big THANK YOU to catman, for spotting this engine and posting it up!
You can catch the epic tale of the "get" here:

Have a safe trip Daniel!

It looks pretty good mostly due to a repaint, in a nearly correct "original" maroonish color. But it is missing the Iconic fluted brass cylinder lagging cover plate, has a strange bolt sticking out of the top of the cylinder, improper modern bolts in the cylinder head, and I really didn't like the way it ran in the video at all, like too much pressure had to be used to get it to run, and very jerky at that. Time will tell what I'm actually getting here, so we shall see ..... I leave before dawn tomorrow, and plan to be in the depths of "The Pit" for pickup a little before noon.
It's probably been over thirty years since last I was in the greater Hell-A area, and many bad memories linger. I can only imagine that it is all that much worse now!

Sure is a nice one...
Looking forward to see your review Daniel ;)

Well,...... not to mention having to go deep into the heart of "the Beast" in order to rescue this engine.
The heart of "The Beast" ? Where is it, Los Angeles? Hope it isn't a scam to get someone to
show up with a pocket full of cash. Maybe you should take a pocket full of lead with you.

You have us cheering for you Daniel , keep us posted on the events please.

Good Luck Daniel.
Feels like one of Nick’s Steam Road Trips. 🤠
-
Good luck Daniel I hope you are successful, it looks an incredibly fun engine to run.
-
Well, I am working on it, but it does have a number of obvious problems, and likely some less obvious ones. The price seems very reasonable up front, but to a great extent it is definitely a "pig in a poke" sort of an affair. It will also take a very long day, driving and over 10% price increase in gas, to gather it in ...... not to mention having to go deep into the heart of "the Beast" in order to rescue this engine.

Great price for a Sipp that size, and that nice, wish I could get it! I just hope he doesn't run it to pieces on that shaky table, can't be good for the engine!
-
That's is a very fair price , if within driving range , it would be mine by now. 😉👍
-
You’re just close enough for it to be very tempting! ;D And you know I won’t help talk you out of going for it 😂
-
Hmmm ... That's only about a 600 mile round trip, perhaps I should sign onto that board and chat the fellow up a bit?!?!

Torrance, California

It looks to be a nice 1/2 hp Sipp, but missing the distinctive cylinder lagging cover. I wonder where he's located, as it would be worth a fair drive to pick that up!
-
very good price - and it could be restored without a lot of work -
only new paint - and oil ;D
-
Looks like a cheap price for a Sipp, wish it was closer as he doesn’t ship

Not mine, but I saw this on another forum.
