Title: Re: My sons wedding yesterday
Post by: Jim on March 22, 2021, 06:04:26 pm
Wow, Jim...!!!  The break in the rain storms is a real blessing for a most wonderful event. You could not ask for more.
I recall speaking with you just a few hours earlier and you were preparing for a "plan B" location.
Congrats all around for you, Jenny, Tom, Jemma, and the rest of your family..!!!

Thank you very much for sharing with us, your very personal and special family celebration.

Gil

Thanks Gil, when you and I were talking on the phone the morning of the wedding the rain was belting down on the roof. I was even getting worried about a "plan B" location being
a wash out. It was just incredible that the rain stopped, even early enough so that none of the seating was even wet. But it hasn't stopped raining since and its Tuesday and its still belting down here. Thank you for the well wishes.

Obviously congratulations are in order .
What I want to know is how did they get it done without getting wet ?
Been watching the news and to be polite it is hell over there again

Cheers
Dennis

Dennis it rained non stop f0r 48 hours before and then about an hour before the ceremony it stopped and didn't rain for around 3 hours and its rained then ever since non stop. There's massive amounts still predicted tomorrow. We were truly blessed that it wasn't rained out.

Congratulations to them and to you for having raised them and prepared them for their future lives, Jim.

In Greece we say "Να σας ζήσουν “may they live [long] for you” to the bride and groom’s families.

What a beautiful daughter-in-law you have gained Jim .... and a fine spouse for your son!

I feel honored to have you share such a deeply personal family occasion and have me "included", as it were.

May the lovely couple share a full and wonderful life together!!!

Congratulations to the happy couple. Sometimes a little longer wait makes the desert a little sweeter.

Tom & Jemma got married yesterday on the beach, huge day we have had over 8" of rain here and the whole East coast of Australia is flooding (we're ok) and there wasn't a drop of rain for the entire ceremony or for the dinner and the rest of the night it was truly a magical afternoon and night...so tired today though.
They cancelled their wedding last year 48 hours before the day when the government shut down all weddings due to Covid, so a year later they are now married!

Being able to share this with my worldwide friends is really wonderful and this friendship and fellowship that I feel with you all is more than just the interest that we share in this hobby, you are friends.
