Good news Gil!

This whole Wuhan lockdown thingie, has derailed usual shipping standards quite a bit.

I ordered mine (both packages) on April 1st.

The one from Matthias Brenner (Station500) arrived today.

The one from Peter Schaeffer is not here yet but should not be too far behind.

Gil

Here's an update..... Brent you had much better luck than me with Peter and his spring drive bands. Staion500's order arrived the 15th after ordering from both sources on April 1st.

I still haven't received the belts from Peter.

Here's a good update.....

Albeit a bit slow to arrive, I received them today.... exactly 1 week after the Station500 order.

I do believe Peter is WAY behind at the moment.
I ordered some parts 3 weeks ago, and just got them today, at least 2 weeks later than expected.

Thanks for the tip, Jan!

I just ordered some from your link.

Station500 also sells for a similar price.

Unfortunately have had no response from inquiries to both of these sellers.

Thank you very much; I have contacted him for a quote. I think many of the early engines may have used this size or even larger. I have some which may be Marklin-supplied originals which are nearly 3mm. Wilesco's common 2mm belts are too small for the larger Marklin lineshaft pulleys and accessories although I'm sure they will work with a lot of tension on the springs. For the past year I've been restoring a Marklin 4283 machine shop and I have to replace some of its 13 spring belts. This project is nearly finished so more to come soon.

Awaiting the pictures - this is one of my biggest Maerklin dreams
Congrats Arnold ;)

Thanks again Bruce. It's been the project of a lifetime and has required nearly 9 months of steady work (thank you covid). It was going to be on my table at NAMES which was unfortunately cancelled. Tapatalk is unbearable without an adblocker--it's their (Tapatalk's) way of pushing you to pay them fees to stop the pop-up video ads which block out about a third of the page. Adblocker stops about 15 ads per page visit there.

Thanks Bruce. You can see some "before" or "as found" photos in my 2018 posting on the Mamod forum here:
https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/modelsteam/guess-that-model-number-t102890.html

Make sure to read through all the replies and comments because some of the first ones were misleading. Then there's an Aug 2020 update. Next (final) update coming soon which I'll post on both sites.
Brent
I just got done reading every word and looking at each picture & movie carefully, I absolutely love the entire setup and wasn't aware anything like this even existed. I especially like the trolley system ,control panel , building, tooling.....I think you get the idea that I love it in its entirety. This is one of my favorite things. ( I don't miss all the adds on Tapatalk though)

Oh goody , this looks very promising for some jaw dropping eye candy to be coming soon.
PS:I hope you find all the belts you need as well Brent.

Thank you; I will check with both suppliers. I have been running the shop using its original electric motor and some of the spring belts must be at least 50 years old! I only have some 'tuning up' of the steam engine before trying it on air or steam.

My absolute favourite Wilesco parts dealer for more than a decade, is Peter Schaefer in Germany.
Just checked with him, and looks like heŽll ship a set of 5 to you for just around 15 bucks, including shippingcosts.

I know youŽd be "importing" then, but assume everything from Wilesco is imported, one way or the other 8)

Does any one have a good US source for Wilesco's larger spring belts Z827? These are the larger size (not z80) and are 2.5mm diam and 500 mm long. Ministeam seems to be permanently out-of-stock. Thanks.
