Bonjour,
Little update on my speed project.
After a first test on the pond with a 60 mm then a 70 mm two blades speed propeller,
I have decided to move the boiler back in order to raise the bow a little and lower the bow wave that threatens to enter the boat. To be tested as soon as possible :

Thank you Raphael.

Bonjour Charlie,
Thank you for your support ! Bad luck for me, already beaten by my friend Alain and his "I va Vite 2", we both have it by Ghislain's "Ky"
I already know that this new project will not be a winner, never mind, I will build another one like this one :

Please keep in mind that we may not exceed 8 bar (+/- 120 PSI).
First test with a 60 mm propeller :

Second test with a 70 mm propeller :

Well done Raphael!
I just had the opportunity to watch the video.
Were you the fastest boat on the day of the Regatta?
-
Bonjour,
Many thanks for your kind words and encouragements, but there are other very fast competitors :

Hopefully, this boat is not running currently and currently the fastest reach 12 km/h = 6,5 knots = 7,5 mph !

Bpnjour Raphael,
Votre enthousiasme m'a donné une pêche d'enfer ce Dimanche matin.
For those like me who know nothing about steam boats watching your videos is a blessing. Cannot wait to see how that beast is going to compete with the others soon.
Thanks for sharing !
George

Bonjour,
My Scott boiler is too heavy, I have bought another one which is twice lighter and I hope as efficient :

Bonjour,
For fun, another speed steam machine : https://youtu.be/ubZbn5o6EfI

Excellent progress Raphael!

Bonjour,
I have solved my loss of power issue by using the gas in its liquid phase :

I have to find different propellers for the tests I can't wait to start !

I liked the videos a lot.

Enjoyed the videos Raphaël.

Bonjour,
Charlie, This first test was done with a 2 blades 60 mm offshore propeller, I will try a 67 mm, then I will buy 3 blades 60 and 67 mm ones and measure the results with a, emectronic tachometer.
For my gas fall of pressure issue, I will convert my tank to liquid phase.
My best "ennemy" runs at about 12 km/h, 6,5 knots, this is the speed that I want to exceed as much as possible ;)
-
Wow, those things move pretty good.
-
Looks like a Speed Demon Raphael.
What type of prop will you use?
-
Very nice.
I have an old wood Chris Craft boat here somewhere.
I should try running it in the bath tub.

Bonjour,
I like Hit & Miss engines indeed and, even if I am waiting a new Microcosm M19, my passion is for steam boats.
My previous boat having been badly beaten :(

I embarked on a new steam speed project with improbable elements, a 60 year old Chris Craft hull rescued from the trash, a double burner Babcock boiler that weighs two arms and a very powerful speed machine, luckily.

Here is her first test:

I still have some work to do to get her maximum ;)
