Mamod does it as mentioned, and since both Wilesco and Jensen have relatively big holes in the sides of the firebox as well, i doubt it would change much besides visual appearence.

So, if I made a door, or possibly fitted a Mamod door (photo) to a dry fuel fired Wilesco or Jensen stationary engine, do you think the reduced air supply would have the effect of a cooler or slower burn for Esbit or Meth burner? I am looking for a bit of draft control, but do not wish to put the fire out?

Doors very rarely come up for sale, but it could be an fun little project making one yourself :)
That thought does have some appeal to me Jan, I like the Idea of scale the Wilesco design down to fit a smaller engine properly. I see a 3 piece pattern in my head that would allow me to practice my much needed Solder skills...I also see a 1 piece pattern that if carefully cut and folded would allow me to get quite close to the Wilesco look. Thanks for the input!

It seems Wilesco will sell you a new chimney but I can Not find a listing for firebox doors....I don't yet have an engine large enough to come with one (yet) I thought it would be kind of fun to dress up a smaller engine with a door. However they may be far to large to be fitted?
