Being brand new it could very well be tight, I gather that you've of course lubricated everything.

Are you trying to run it on air or steam?

Just try to remember anything that you change so that you can change it back to factory settings.

Take pictures from all angles before taking anything apart!

Is it new or secondhand Howard?

Can you post a photo of the engine and what you loosened?

Have you been able to run the engine?

 Need help as a newbie.
My S-50 was delivered today and I noticed the Flywheel was very stiff.
I immediately oiled  all parts and then loosen up the nut that was on the maid stroke. I did loosen up very much.
Did I do right or was it another issue.
Thanks for you help
