Would assume it would fit straight on there, same stroke so the crank will fit either version.
I doubt there´s any cylinder setups left, but the piston/connecting rod is available as sparepart still (just in case you spot an incomplete engine at a bargain price).

D5/D6 - 7mm/16mm bore/stroke.
D8 /D12 - 9mm/16mm bore/stroke.
Difference is that the D8 is mounted with a D10 base/boiler (155ml), whereas the D12 is mounted with a D16 base/boiler (250ml).
This might be a question for Jan. Looking at the specs. If you had an old D5/D6 and could find a piston/rod/cylinder assembly from a D8/D12, will it bolt right up to a D5/D6 for a "Big Bore upgrade"?
I was looking for some NOS "loop" style rods like the one Bruce just restored (older D12) and stumbled upon photos of D8/D12 cylinder assembly but discontinued....perhaps some vendor may still have stock...

Perfect Ben!
Raise hope significantly, when sellers like this is encountered :)

I asked my German seller(rather politely) if he could kindly pack this engine Extra well and did make a few suggestions on how to do it.
I got a really nice email today, he showed me photos of how he packed and expressed wishes I would enjoy the model and also how he hopes to bring his family state side this year to Florida on holiday. All in all I am resting a bit more easy that this may in fact arrive safe!

Wow!, great info (as usual) thanks Jan!

Congratulations on your "big bore" oscillator, it looks like it is in immaculate condition, well done Ben!
A larger bore would be nice, I just assumed (never a good plan) that it was D/5-D6 power with larger boiler, oil cups, pressed tin engine riser platform and a 3 post fence. I have much to learn :)

I was doing Wilesco "crude" research and stumbled upon this....perhaps not special but no longer in production. For fun I made a low offer (dangerous, I know) and today my offer was accepted.
It comes with (4) Wilesco accessory's that I won't have much use for except perhaps the line shaft. The whistle and weighted safety valve are in the original box. I gave the seller some requests for how to pack, but I am scared, as it will come all the way from Germany.
Similar to Jan, I do not collect Wilesco...but it seems there like rabbits, if you let one "in"...pretty soon you got 12!
