Yes, even though I own it and it works well, I agree with your idea, maybe they will follow your suggestion to make a brand new steam engine kit. I also like to have chimneys and stepped drive pulleys, which will make the engine more interesting. ;)

It makes nice steam engine sounds running, thank you for the video!
I have been watching these for a couple weeks, the best price I have seen lately is $100 shipped.
The boiler is used from another product, kind of a spinning steam UFO, this is not a bad thing as I think it makes a rather nice looking boiler.
If they sold these as DIY assembly kits in the $60-$70 price range I think they would sell quite well, with a bit different paint job and perhaps polish the flywheel outside, painted spokes and perhaps a stepped drive pulley for o-ring belts and perhaps a Weeden style chimney and a few other light mods this could blossom into quite a nice looking engine, of course these are just my personal tastes and YMMV.

Runs as nice, as it looks.

I got its dimensional drawings and attached a YouTube video link when the engine was running, let's enjoy it! ;D

Get an interesting gadget-a transparent cylinder steam engine model.
The castings are good and the appearance is handled properly.
