Title: Steam Engine Accessories
Post by: Quickj on September 23, 2021, 07:08:41 pm
I was browsing through the Estate Sale listings for this weekend https://www.estatesales.net/ (https://www.estatesales.net/) that are close to my home.

I noticed these items in one of the pictures;

I see a drill press, Transmission/line shaft, and a grinder.  There is also a couple of maybe pieces I don't recognize as tin toy accessories like the fountain looking thing on the left and the fan blade thing behind the drill press.  Does anyone recognize them.  Someone that knows more about accessories  then me (which is probably everyone here) chime in with manufacturer information for these and a ball park value.  I will not be attending this estate sale because I am going to South Dakota for the Black Hills Model engine show on Saturday.  On a related note, I did go to an estate sale last Sunday because in one of the pictures for that sale there was an Empire Steam Engine, all taken apart in a box (looks like maybe the heating element burned out and they took it apart to fix it, but never did.) Anyway, that one was sold, but there was an early Weeden 14 there in a wooden box, with the burner and the governor and it was in fairly decent shape.  They wanted $170.00 for it, minus 30% because it was the last day.  I was there with 10 minutes left of the sale so I offered them $50.00.  They declined but countered with $100.00.
I did not get it.

On a somewhat related note, I found this piece at my every Sunday morning flea market.

I see it was made by Bing, but it was just the windup spring drive clockwork and everything else was missing.  So What was it?

(I googled it after I posted this, so nevermind)
