That must have been quite a fire - glad it was contained to the garage/shed only. The one (hopefully) good part is that now you can start planning on a replacement, bigger and better.
-
Very good no one was hurt and that it was contained quickly.
I smoke, and I am very particular about disposal of butts and extinguishing-this being the reason. My dad taught me to "field-strip" butts, mashing the hot parts out with your fingers then spreading the loose tobacco so that it won't keep burning- then pocket the butt and paper.
Glad it was insured and your steam items and most importantly family and pets weren't in danger.
-
Glad you and yours are safe Ron that's the main thing.
Allan.

Sorry to see this, but glad the steam toys are safe. Probably easier to replace tools!

I should have mentioned Garage - shop fire we decided
was started by carles cig disposal. Ron
-
OH NO Ron! This is terrible :(

This was sure unexpected !! Five Fire Departments responded
and I have to give them credit they did a fine job.Total loss but
all steam related items were in the house. Building was insured
so we will survive. Fire came within 10 feet from our house so we
feel quite lucky!!! steamtoys {Ron)
