Excellent work Arnold.
Thanks for posting the video.
-
Very well done.
-
Wonderful engine, expertly restored!

Spent some time on the lathe improving the chimney connection
for the Locomobile.
I have a solid 1 inch hex bar
used made of brass and it came out very nicely.
Now I just have to nickel it ...

Hello Arnold,
You did not promise too much with your first photo. The locomobile looks very good and runs great. You would do well to leave the original paint job.
-
Thanks Nick - it was not much work because there was only a lot of dirt
and some Imperfections
Jason - the video is back - it is a good and strong runner - need space
to let it run on the floor...
-
thats a smooth runner seems video disapeared but i saw it and looks great. great find.

Looks Great! 8) Nice/fast work 👍
-
Yes - it arrived today - and very well packed. After cleaning
I had to replace the sight glass - it was to short and had a crack,
then I had to make a grommet for the chimney from brass. It is not
yet perfect but okay for a test run. I will not make any paint job
because the original patina looks better (my opinion)
These Locomobiles are very nice...

Congrats, Arnold, I really was tempted by that one myself...
...good to know it will be in good hands soon!
All the best across the Lake!

Congratulations...should clean up well.
-
Very nice buy! Hope to get one myself someday…

Won an auction for a Märklin Locomobile.
I hope it arrives the next day. Some parts
missing and of course it has quite a bit of patina. I guess
the burner is the same as on the 4097/5 models.
These traction engines are pretty rare ...
Regards, Arnold
Will post details soon ;D
