Original or not, it sure makes a very nice chimney! :)

Thank you all for your kind comments.
It really is what you would call a "schwerer Brocken" (hefty lump) in German...
The appear only once in a while a German Ebay, the hallmark "EPD" is often misread as "DEP" by the sellers, as the D encircles the two other letters...
This one shows some modifications, the lamp post has been transferred to a place close to the generator, the lineshaft (a rather big one, painted the sam reddish brown as the base of the cylinder) is missing.
But most unusual is the crown of the chimney, definitely not original but a re-used silver item (perhaps a vintage salt shaker?):

Really Nice, Thank you for the Video!

What a beast!
Thanks for the Steam Up! :)

My congratulations. Super machine.

Very nice steam plant and everything works perfectly.
It has excellent condition and I think it is rare.
My congratulations and thank you for the film...
Greetings Arnold :D
NB. The generator draws quite a lot of power!
My pleasure, Arnold! And yes, the genny is an energy guzzler, really. The lamp was moved from a different position (between boiler and cylinder) to where it stands now - of course, it makes more sense to illuminate the engine rather than the generator. Four other drill-holes around the genny indicate where the original transmission (now disappeared) must have stood.

very nice

Well, Arnold has shown us his EPD (Eberhard Pässler, Dresden)"D 1" engine running, but perhaps you would like to see the 1950/60s original set-up with generator etc in action as well.
Huge steel boiler, electrically heated, 10cm ø, 20cm long...

And the generator still working...:
