I have a mop I’ve been using for wick material for years. Coat it with soap and you have the perfect fuel pump packing also.

I used to buy varying diameters of cotton wicks in varying lengths, and still never seemed to have what I needed to fit a burner properly, until I started to use a cotton mop head.  The strands can be used from a single strand to multiple strands twisted together to make any diameter desired, and they work quite well!
