A great loss for sure Nick.

Sorry for his family's loss and your loss of a mentor and friend.

Thanks guys, he will be missed. If I had to describe Jerred to anyone on the forum, I would simply put him as the Charlie of the full size steam/gas world, don’t think I have ever heard a bad word about the man. He would go out of his way to get anyone and everyone involved in the hobby. One of my first years at the show (20 years ago?) I remember seeing his name on nearly every tractor… I was out watching the steam plowing with a lot of interest and a guy yelled out to me “well aren’t you gonna get up on it?”, put a huge smile on my face and made my day for sure, little did I know, that man was Jerred and all those awesome steamers were his  :D  Later found out he grew up less than a mile from my uncle and they were cousins, I was told Jerred’s family grew up very poor, talking with him at the shows, you’d never guess how well off he had become. Very humble and generous man that would let a complete beginner jump up on one of his engines to learn. He was in very poor health the last couple years, and his wife’s mind was nearly gone. It was great to see them out on the golf cart at last summer’s show, but you could tell he wanted to get out and be more involved. I spent every chance visiting with him last summer knowing it was likely the last. Good to know he is no longer suffering, but there are many in this hobby missing him already.

One of the most generous men in the full-size hobby, I am so thankful Jerred and his wife Eileen talked me into attending Steam School and have given me the opportunity to learn on their engines.

I had an awesome time last summer riding the plows and a dream came true pulling throttle on his big 40 Gaar! Jerred & Eileen are on the green golf cart just after 20 seconds:
