These 4097 Series are very good to play around.
Boiler Sizes have been available from 5 to 9 cm diameter.

Nice engine, indeed.
These late Märklin series (and, judging by the blue-gray color of the base, this is a post WWII item) are much underrated. You can find well preserved examples on German Ebay which will cost you less than a Wilesco of similar size...
Your example with the generator is, of course, quite rare!

This recently acquired nice engine has not seen a lot of use. This is the first time I've fired up a stationary steam engine since I had a small one as a boy in 1960. It's nice to re-discover the hobby.
