Without much ado:

The "Bergmeister" (i.e.: mountain (race) champion) was a 350 cc V-twin, with 4 speed gearbox (the shafts linked by duplex-chains!) and shaft drive.

It was designed by Viktoria's chief designer Küchen and dubbed "6-K-Motor": "Küchens Konstruktionen kennen keine komplette Kühlung" (Küchen designed engines don't know sufficient cooling). The Bergmeister suffered thermal problems, because Küchen preferred round, neat designs and thus had must of the cylinders hidden inside the engine casing (with only a few air-fins), the single carburetor under a metal hood on the casing (miles away from the valves) - but there was a light bulb installed under the tank so that you could more easily maintain the carburetor or change the plugs (which were facing inside!!)...

A great engine. It has really moved me to see this fine model, thank you for showing it!

It was my first real motorbike, exactly as old as I was (from 1955) when I got it in 1973. It didn't last long, the frame broke close to rear suspension, which did not really "suspend" anything any longer...

Once again beautiful work! Do you scan existing engines to have something to match for complex curves such as these?

Very cool - I guess #Yussufhippo had a Victoria Bergmeister Motorcycle
in earlier days. This is a very nice replica of the V-two motor.
Arnold :D
