Thanks guys, I really appreciate your kind comments.
Not being a big fan of dusting I am looking to make a cover/display case of some sort.  Meantime here's another video, on air at 5psi and doing about 60 rpm - she will run down to about 30 rpm but not as smoothly:

Congratulations on a very nice engine. I like the tile base, spiral stairway, and the brass figures, which add interest and beauty.

Thanks guys, I do visit here most days Bruce but haven't posted for a while - I promise to try to contribute more often!
I wish I could take credit for the flywheel Charlie but that was an EBay purchase, ex-washing machine if memory serves.  I did spend a lot of time tidying it though.
Some photos here, since the video of the test run I have made and fitted a cylinder cover which I think looks better than the bare brass tube:

Since retirement nearly nine years ago I have mended modded and messed about with dozens of steam and other engines, also built a few boilers and assorted accessories but never a compete engine from scratch - until now.
This is my take on a classic Victorian pumping engine, using a lot of charity shop salvage and probably the worlds supply of artistic licence.
I actually started this about 5 years ago, just a daft idea which has been on and off the workbench ever since.  Finally got round to finishing the thing and here it is:

12 inch flywheel with a single acting semi-rotary valve, bore & stroke are 10 x 40 mm, running on 7 psi
