Very nice, Arnold. The paint looks in good condition. I had to repaint mine due to paint loss and water damage. But your engine runs well as does mine.

Congrats, Arnold,

these Doll Ship's engines are always a treat. Reliable, sturdy, running a bit clunkily due to the two cylinders' parallel movement (but you know old English twin engine motor-bikes, don't you...?).
I always envy your repair abilities and your workshop...

Sight glas and drain cock repaired/resealed and a new exhaust made.
That's it. Arnold ;D

I was always skeptical about buying a Doll. The paint has mostly peeled off or been replaced. But now I got one that is not even that bad. Anyway, I only need to repair the small tap - the rest can remain so with patina. I would say that the condition is 2-3 - however, the nickel-plated parts still very nice. The burner has 3 "mushroom" heads and is very
efficient. The exhaust steam is fed through a copper pipe to the
Chimney led - so that this allows the exhaust steam to escape. This pipe I also have to rebuild and solder back an original exhaust. The funny is the original card box with the price from 1927 - 42.-- Francs - that was 10 $ back then. The Seller has showed to me his collection - hundreds of items - Schuco, Steiff, Matchbox, Märklin, Cars, Trains and Puppets - I am glad there are some more crazy people around.
