Dennis.....that sent a shiver down my spine.

I bought some things for Jenny and myself recently in the US (like you helped me out in NZ recently) and I used an on shipping (forwarding) company....wow never again!!! Thankfully like you did, Nick came to the rescue.

Hi Jim, Those are insane postage prices!

Even here it is getting bad state tp state. Recently a client had to send a UPS 2nd day air envelope and the banged him over the head for $40 (USD)

Gil

I was going through my folders Bruce and Gil from years ago and looking at the postage prices I paid and they were prices I didn't even have to think twice about.
I won't be buying much from OS at these postage prices.

I still reckon things were better before eBays Global Shipping Program got its tentacles into all OS transactions.

When I used to receive Fedex boxes from the US from a private individual who had sold an engine and I'd paid say $28.75 postage, that's all that used to be on the front in stamps.

very rarely do I buy anything from overseas anymore (unfortunately) the cost & the risk of damage (& no real collectable insurance) has all but done away with those transactions....BUT, I do have a nice Accessory coming from Rainer in Germany ;)

When counting for the exchange rate (AU to US), it comes in at about the
same as what I have paid for shipping from Europe.  Too expensive but
short of a diplomatic pouch there is no way around it.  Also, postage rates
are going up here too.  The world is changing very quickly these day, and,
not always for logical reasons.

Anyway, you'll have fun when your treasure arrivea!  Pictures and videos, please!
