I've just ordered three for my grandchildren Bruce :)
Ah, how grand Jim
during a lull in the upcoming holidays I plan to pull each one aside and we will build it together, very simple & easy to do. Then they can go into a dark room ...or outside at night and crank to their hearts content.
I have two that are the perfect age Bruce and will do likewise, the newest baby I'll date it (unmade in a box) and he will know I bought it the same time as his older cousins got theirs :)

Bruce, that is really a neat item. I have put similar wood kits together and like you said...first time X minutes, second time much quicker.
May have been on the old Mamod forum, but I remember a member named "Busted Bricks" who made and sold marble machine kits of that type construction. I built one for a gift to my son, have a second awaiting the right occasion to build.

Thanks for reminding me Rog, I got one of those as well, put it away until one of the grandkids came over and forgot about it.

I thought I would show this little (very inexpensive) generator with you folks, takes 20-30 minutes to put together the 1st time, 10 minutes the second time. comes with decent enough photo instructions & Chinese writing. I made a small flywheel for it that enables it to be powered by a steam Engine. steam engine is running at 4 psi in the video.
