Loved the video, Jim! Very long and detailed, and relaxing to watch. A most impressive engine, for certain.
I noticed the valve handles are not the usual red (plastic?) ones I've seen on other 16051's. Did you make these? They look much nicer!
Paula
G'day Paula, they are a nice looking engine and a pleasure to take down off the shelf and steam up.
Yes, I turned the handles from some hardwood I have the plastic red ones safely stored away but wasn't a big fan of them.

I remember years ago when these were offered and they were snapped up by collectors very quickly, then after a couple of years they were being unloaded in near abundance and I wanted one pretty badly back then, but got talked out of buying one by a steam friend who had a bad opinion of them, Now ,I wish I HAD bought one back then. 😊 nice engine Jim.

Such a beautiful engine, and your setup is impressive. I haven't steamed mine yet, I've only run it on air. Maybe there is an easier way to get the water pump pumping, maybe priming it before startup? Nice video.
It's always been a little problematic getting it primed, when I used the syringe in the vid (first time I've done that) it started up pretty much straight away. So pre-priming might be the go.
