Yeah these are made by hand. With the ignitor arm you have they may have been attempting to make it more alike to a United Chore Boy engine. I have the full size engine that these are modeled to look like, and would love to have the opportunity to purchase this engine.

Paul Breisch is what the B stands for. Paul sold casting kits to machinists most of who built just one for themselves. Your model is of an Associated engine.
It doesn't need to have a spark plug because it has an ignitor that requires a low tension coil.

Thanks for the info! I have looked at some of these and I see it does run on gas but this one does not seem to have a place for a spark plug. Here is a couple more pictures. Is it missing something? Oliver

This 1 appears to be machined from a casting kit and drawings to me. I dont think its mass produced.

Hello! I inherited several model steam engines through my mother. Most were exquisite little engines by Stuart Turner. I am not a collector so I have been trying to sell them at a fair market value on ebay. These things are quite valued and sell quickly! Yesterday I found another box in the attic with this extraordinary piece. It is about 12 inches long and 8 inches high. It weighs at least 10 pounds! Looking around on the internet I found it to be a hit and miss that maybe runs on steam instead of gas? My questions are, does the "B" stand for Bing, the German toy company? I looked at some of their stuff but found nothing like this. So, I would like to know the manufacturer and what I might ask as a fair market price. These things are really cool, and I like them to go to people who really appreciate the fine workmanship. Thank you for any help you can give me. Oliver
