And then some is an understatement Rog, your 51-R is incredible
-
wow - that is impressive!

Hi Rog, That is an awesome rig! There is no such thing as too much fun with that set-up.
Great video... I fully understand the 429+ hours of joy.
Very well done..!!!

That is a whole lot of fun in one Big package! Thanks for showing!
-
Awesome! There can't be many other steam-powered plasma balls in existence!

Rog, it takes both steam in the blood and most especially steam in the soul, and you my friend have it in both high volume and pressure. That your family does not is less surprising than it is unfortunate, but different strokes as they say!

That is the stuff that steam dreams and are made of, although I have had the pleasure of seeing this 1st hand a few times over the years, I never tire of marveling at it. the built in accessories(& concealed wires) are superb. This was one of the 1st things I fell in love with when I became a steam addict. Still love it !
Thanks for the tour of the " 51R and accessory family" Rog.

Thank you guys...nice to get some positive feedback vs. my family who look at this project and shake their heads that anyone would putz with something for 429 hours and still love it!

Roger ... that is far beyond AWESOME!!!
You have certainly earned all the fun you have with that astounding replica.
Well done SIR ... very well done INDEED!!!

In 2006 I completed an initial build of a Jensen 51 replica starting with a mid 60's Jensen 50. It turns two AC generators and one DC generator (stepper motor) which in turn light 5 lamps and one motor mounted on the 51 replica itself.
Last year I moved this engine and accessories from a basement workshop to an upstairs bedroom/office with easier access, better lighting and a built in exhaust fan. With the move to it's new location, I connected 6 external/DC powered accessories that run off the 51 replica. These include a Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Plasma Ball, Windmill, N scale train and a Marble Machine.
Despite a balky Marble Machine near the end, everything worked and I made this video in one take.
Enjoy,
Rog
