Thank you Gil and Tommy
the double slide valves are seldom in a model engine
they are more common in full sizes. The second slide
can reduce the filling volume of steam - and yes not
easy to adjust.
Have a nice weekend,
Arnold

That is as smooth running as it is beautiful. Kudos.

Hi Arnold, a big CONGRATULATIONS is in order...!!!
You have acquired a wonderful steam plant. As stated above, the whole thing oozes top quality.
Re the dual slide valves....
While not terribly common their purpose is to allow a skilled engineer to fine tune the engine more completely than any single D-Valve would allow.

Bonjour Arnold,
It runs like a Swiss chronograph ;D

Arnold:
Have you steamed it yet?
I hope there is a video coming. :)

Hello Charlie - yes I have made a "live steam" video in my work shop.

Thank you ALL for your nice comments
I am really happy with this nice steam plant.
Only problem as ever - where can I place it
as my shelfs are FULL - no more space at all.
I'm thinking about a traveling exhibition like in the big museums -
they can't exhibit all objects either but change them after a certain time.
I know I'm not the only one looking for space - so I'm in good company here.
Arnold ;D

That is a nice plant Arnold, it just oozes quality from every piece on that plinth. Exceedingly nice runner.

Congratulations Arnold!
A very fine Steam Engine.
Thank you for sharing.

What a beauty. Top shelf in any collection.
Congrats,

Here my new Steam plant that I found last Sunday in the western part of Switzerland. It was made
by a skilled watch maker in the 1980. It has a lot of nice features - the Governor is really working
and operates the double slide valves. Underneath of the platform the water tank gets preheated by
the exhaust steam. Further there is a water pump, a generator, double water sight glasses, steam whistle
safety valve, two steam valves and manometer. The Boiler is fired with propane for easy and clean handling.
It has a heigh of 60 cm and is very heavy but still a size that can be handled solo - haha
