I've noticed that vacuum engines in general do not operate well in stealth mode ....  ;c)

Jim, that is a very fine flame licker...might just see if I can get one!  Love the flame adjuster, a good solution to a problem area on these type engines.

Roger

Thanks Roger, this one has instantly turned into my favourite flame licker.
They are great for a quick and easy 'hit' of 'engine running' when one feels the need but hasn't time for getting a boiler going.

A really pretty engine Jim, runs just fine "outa the box", its nice that they spent some extra time making a more precision flame adjuster.

Thanks Bruce, I'm going to have some enjoyment running this engine.

You'll get there mate, just remember you don't have to use it fully manual to get GREAT shots.
The sensor in the D750 is an awesome sensor.
Really looking forward to seeing some photos Daniel.

Last problem I was fighting was that the AF wasn't tracking fast moving stuff in video mode, at least I don't think it was, but then I have several videos of me putting the lens cap on because I haven't remembered to turn the camera off first, so whatever that AF problem is, I suspect its root cause is just me!

Enough of hijacking this thread on what is a really neat Stirling Cycle engine, as we can talk camera in emails without detracting so much from your original post!!!

What a very willing runner is that one! A bit of a noise maker as well, so that at certain speeds it sounds fully industrial in operation. I also am very impressed with the flame position adjustment system, though I have seen similar on old German engines as well if I recall correctly.

What a cracker you have there Jim .... thanks for sharing it with us all !!!

Thanks Daniel it sounds awesome running and I'm glad the camera's mic picked up the sound. I'm looking forward to spending some more time with it and adjusting that flame to see how slow the engine will run.

How are you going with your new Nikon? Bet you're over the moon with it!

The D750 and I are in the midst of a love/hate relationship. I think the main problem is that there are soooooo many levers, buttons, adjustments, menus, and other critical choices to be made with every change of situation, that I'm just not able to keep up with all the info I learned two days ago and forgot yesterday. Just had it on a major trip to some great events and do know I got at least some images from them, as the automatic function setting does usually work okay for us dummies! Hope to get my compuker to accept some of the stuff I shot and maybe someday soon I'll start sharing some of it here?!?!

Wow, Jim, I am also impressed. I can see why you are very pleased with it.

Very nicely done...!!!

Gil

Thanks Gil, I think my happiness was evident in the vid.....I was REALLY happy  ;D

Reading about how hot the Summer has been in the Northern Hemisphere in the news, I hope its not to bad for you and the A/C is keeping things
cool.
