Good catch Dennis.

I see what you are referring to here Dennis, but I just past it off as a visual distortion due to the reflection of the backside of the flywheel. However, now that you have it really isolated, I have to wonder if perhaps you are correct?!?!

I am more worried about this behind the flywheel
Is it a shadow or a crease .
Boiler looks like pulled away from the nickel ring that joins boiler to fire box
Or is my eye sight -laying tricks on me

Wonderfully enhanced photo .... really shows that ding that is lost in the darkness of the original image!
-
So the dent is the crease at the boiler base behind the flywheel ?
Has it impacted on the integrity of the boiler seal ? ie will it leak as the solder joint looks deformed.
Cheers
Dennis
Maybe a dent there as well Dennis but woeful dint is this in my enhanced photo…

Wrong chimney - no burner - safety valve weight cut in half - dent -
Governor missing parts
It is a 3-4 condition - and a value from 250 up - in my opinion
But - overall good looking, nice water level - repairable

Looks pretty good even with that dent in the boiler, but the dent is quite distracting in that rather key visual location. I'm thinkin' they're wanting a bit much for that one, though given time someone will probably decide they want it that much!?!?
