No need for photos Tony, you gave me all the info I needed. Four AAA batteries is the answer, but will do nothing for my 14.4 + volt problems of finding room in other engines.

Hi Daniel,

The Thomas toy uses four AAA rechargeable batteries, that power an inexpensive 3/6 volt can motor with a plastic worm and wheel drive to the axle, the axles are coupled using 'V' pulleys and a spring wire belt (Wilesco type), R/C is fitted.

The toy was bought from a charity shop for a few pounds. it is a push-along toy and the eyes move when pushed and it had a sound system.

I can post a couple of photographs if you wish.

Take care. Tony.

A little bit of playing with trains was "justified"???

Heck, I'd say it was downright REQUIRED!!!

Tony, is that track powered, or battery powered?

If battery, then what batteries do you have in the little blue Thomas type engine?

Hi,

More progress on the Cardiff Model Engineering Society garden railway might even be finished before Winter set in.
