Wow, thats rough!
Its amazing to me that someone thought enough of it to even offer it for sale. I think most folks these days would just toss it in the trash.
-
Poor thing, but price seems fair though...
25$ for a nice safety valve, whistle and steam valve...and most likely a fully usable boiler and flywheel as well, would seem like a bargain to me.
Heck, i even think it would run as is, if the cylinder isnīt completely stuck.
Would be proud to have it as is on my shelf here, as a proof of Jensen quality ;D
I agree Jan, it would be a novelty to do no more than is needed just to get it to run & display as is.
I have a true wreck of a Jensen, that I got as part of a combo deal. While it doesn't look as bad as that one, it does look as though it may have been through a fire, then left out in the rain! Perhaps I should clear shelf space to allow for it to be "proudly" displayed?!?!

Now there's something you don't see just everyday!
Can't quite tell if the engine base plating has just come loose, or if all the steel metal underneath that plating has simply rusted away?!?!
The metal is "gone"
Can't be completely gone as I don't think the plating alone could hold the flywheel aloft!
its only being held up by force of habit.

Condition: Used - "Fair"
I hate to see what the seller thinks is in "Bad" condition.
My vote is the base has rusted away from the plating - have to say it is interesting to look at and wonder "WTF happened here".

It should buff right out!!!

Maybe they meant to say "a full rustoration"?
took me a second to get that Bret...lol
or maybe a "fools" restoration.

I found this while trolling around Facebook marketplace, looks like it was stored in a pail filled with acid, but "needs a full restoration" (ya' think)
