😂 I was on my way to work when that one was ending and a highway patrol was coming up behind me so I wasn’t able to click on it to bid… surprised it sold as cheap as it did.
Wait a minute, you have a job. I'm sorry, I thought you just bought steam engines.(https://emoji.tapatalk-cdn.com/emoji23.png)

Well here it is like it hasn’t been in many, many years.

Very nice Walter.

That is will be a nice engine, you really have disassembled that tank! Just another member that shows how I really don't do much with my Empires. Love watching repairs like this.
Look forward to the next video.

Well after some delicate work, she runs but only on air at this stage; boiler repairs now….

Congratulations...!!!
Very well bought.
I love the engraving on the connecting rod.

Yes that's nice but I love the "S" spoked flywheel. Years back I picked one up
from Ebay. Just the engine frame, cylinder, axel and flywheel. That was the part
I wanted.

I understand your reasoning that if you don't do the rehab
before getting it to run the rehab may take a long time to
start. I've gone that route.
And, $60 to Down Under is less expensive than shipping from
Germany to Brooklyn. $60 sounds like a bargain.
I vote for a rehab-to-run first and then get right into that
nasty base leg problem. But what do I know.
Good Luck,
Wayne

Congratulations. Hope you can repair it without too much trouble. I would like to see it running.

I was watching this engine but the missing piece of the frame
would have stumped me. One question...is the shipping to
Australia $15.40? I can't think it is that cheap. If so,
you have a real bargain in that deal.
So which is it....Get it running first or do the frame repairs
first. I say get it running and put up a video.
Good Luck,
Wayne
First up full marks to Wayne for recognising that shipping to me in Australia could be only $15.40, I might console Wayne somewhat by explaining that this is only shipping from the seller to my agent in USA; I expect that to pay another $60 for freight cost on top of that for this rare gem to complete the journey to WA.
In addition, I will complete the repair to the broken mounting first before I am running it otherwise the repair might never be done……
To all other responders my thanks to you for your response and well wishes and hopes for the machine in my care.

I too am surprised that one sold as "cheap" as it did. Had it on my watch list and thought about bidding, but wisely decided that I really don't need another project that I'll not likely get to in this lifetime.
Congratulations on what seems likely to have been a good score. Perhaps you'll get lucky and find a total wreck with a good end frame available someday. Meanwhile, I'm sure you can jury rig something that will make it functional for now.

Congratulations, I'm sure you'll do it proud.

I’ll need to machine and braze a piece of cast iron onto it so that it will stand up correctly.
