Problem Solved!

Great to hear.

It would be great if you posted a picture of your modification.

I worked it out, it's M3-0.50.  Yes, I extend the threads about a inch and then cut off the steering shaft half a inch.  I have done this on a couple of the Mamods and it works pretty good.
  Thanks everyone for replying.

Are you looking to cut the steering shaft off on the end where the steering wheel goes?
Then run a die down to recut threads on it? I'll dig around on mine and see what taps
and die I have.
If you're modifying it why stick with metric threads. See what you have in SAE and
a nut too.

Hello everyone.I am working on installing Wilesco traction engine steering on a Mamod TE1A.  I have it all together but encountered a problem.
The steering shaft is too long and needs to be shortened and the threads extended.  Seems simple enough, but I can not determine the threat pitch of the Wilesco steering shaft.
I have M3, M3/0.35,M3/0.5 M3/0.6 but nothing seems to thread onto the Wilesco steering shaft.

Can someone tell me the pitch of a Wilesco traction engine steering shaft?  I would really appreciate it.
