I'd say that one found a good home with you just in time as it was clearly on a steep downhill trajectory before your timely intervention!

The Fleischmann 125/4 is an enviable engine, at the cusp of the famous old-world craftsmanship, and the new age simpler/cheaper manufacturing.

Fleischmann now has a proper smokestack and kind of proper ladder(Modified Mamod). It now goes onto the completed shelf.

You did a great job on that, all it needs is a smoke stack and a ladder. Good grab.

As Nick said, you really brought this back into amazing condition compared to what you received, & it runs well to boot. Nice work Sir!

I recently bought a Fleischmann 125/4 on ebay. The description "Vintage Fleischmann Live Toy Steam Engine.Dirty and estate fresh. As is." was vague, but the pictures looked ok.

I expected there would be a bit of work to get the engine up and running, but when I opened the box I was surprised. The boiler was detached from the fire box, and the steam pipe had pulled out of the steam valve. Fortunately nothing was bent or dented. Since I didn't pay a great deal for the engine, I took things in stride.

I finally found some time today to clean and repair this engine. I re-soldered the boiler to the firebox, soldered the steam pipe, replaced the sight glass, replaced all seals, and replaced the drain and steam valve packing. Nothing leaks and it runs ok.

I don't have the smokestack, firebox door, and boiler platform ladder. Any help locating these items will be appreciated.
