Title: Re: 1/4” compress female to 1/4-40 male
Post by: Steamburns on March 23, 2024, 12:51:59 pm
since the threading is 27 tpi & NOT 24 tpi, you'll ruin the threads in the Jensen boiler if you force it in.

Well, damn.  I can’t believe it is that close to what’s needed.    Any idea what I need in order to achieve what I am seeking?
Will not only ruin the Jensen threads... there is no flange for a gasket.

How can I connect PM 1/4-40 to 5/16-24?
Probably have to go with special machining.

Can you hook me up? How much do I need to pay you.

I ordered this on eBay.

However, the Jensen threads are 5/16-24,  this is 5/16-27…. I’ll try it. It’s only a few bucks. [attachimg=1]

So I am wanting to run the 1/4” compression fitting which uses a female attachment on top of the Jensen boiler, and union or run it down to 1/4-40 UST, for PM research piping.

Can anyone help me figure out what I need?  I have searched for 1/4” compression threading to 1/4-40 but can’t get clear answers.
