I wanted to add a pressure gauge to my Wilesco D16, but I couldn't find an adapter to convert the gauge's 3/16 x 40 ME threads to Wilesco pre-1990, M6 x 1 boiler threads. After several failed attempts at drilling and tapping an adapter (tiny 3/16 x 40 treads kept breaking out), I decided to try something different. A M6 x 1 brass thumb screw, some brass tubing, and a cone/union nut adapter made a working gauge assembly. It's a bit taller than ideal, but it works and is rigid enough that the gauge doesn't move when the engine is running. Plus, the steam siphon loop may help keep the gauge from becoming waterlogged. Admittedly, the solder job is sloppy.
I hope this can be of use to someone else.
Happy Steaming!
