Runs very nicely!

Just so you know, you do not have to keep making new postings to add more photos. If you look right under the bar where you add your photos you will see the blue words "Add Attachment", if you click on that, another bar for adding photos will materialize below the first one, and that process can be done repeatedly the total number of which depends on the size of your photo files.

Of course, if you actually prefer making separate posts for each photo, that is okay too, it is just more work for you!

Video. Pretty smooth. Small site glass leak. I made the site glass, probably need better washers/gaskets. All & all, turned out nicely

Restoration complete. Very happy with the results. As I plan on keeping this engine in my collection, I went a little further.

Can I assume for all old german engines Falk, Doll, Schoenner they are metric? (Screw size)

From the intitial pics, it looks like there may be some issues around the water plug. Hoping not though. Engine should arrive Saturday, I'll give it a spin with comp air. I'll post some video soon on some of my other engines.

I'd be surprised if the sight glass doesn't leak at least a bit. Otherwise, these engines are pretty solid, and I'd expect good running characteristics to be the norm!

So, when do we get treated to photos/videos of some of your other engines?!?!    ;c)

Thanks for the links! My first Doll. Most of what I have for overtypes are Falk/Schoenner. It looks like a nice engine, hopefully it'll run. I plan to repaint the base back to original. I'll post after pics.

Ah ... so you got that one ...... Nice Score!

Best site I know of for sourcing Doll info is the Ventix Pages as found here:

http://www.ventix-pages.de/doll/

While for Doll Overtypes like you now have, he has this section here:

http://www.ventix-pages.de/doll/D-Dampf/D-Hauptgruppen/D-Statio-loko/D-511/d-511.html

Hope it proves to be a great runner for you, they most often are just that, nicely made old engines!
