Thanks one and all.
I was so surprised how much of a difference the ball bearing races were being 'open' I'm talking from being sealed and not even spinning one revolution to removing the seals and grease and oiling them to spinning then between 45 - 50 seconds.

Good information there Jim, I hadn't thought of removing the dust seal & flushing the grease out & replacing with light gun oil, I will try that next time, besides the open bearings looks kind of cool.

Lots of folks have asked me for some more information on my homemade DIY Transmissions that I made for running accessories at different speeds from the variety of Model Engines that we run. The ball bearing race hint that I mention in the video is really important for our very limited power wise model, toy steam engines, Stirling engines and Hit & Miss engines as any power robbing friction that we can eliminate is very beneficial.
