It seems ebay has it in for Jin.
I don't understand it myself because I have seen far worse feedback records for years.
There must be a small group of just a few very small but vocal people who complain loudly or something of that ilk.
Here is the e-mail I received from Jin:
Hi Gil,
I am very sorry to write to you, because our second store has encountered problems!
This shop has been in business for 17 years. But unfortunately, because we are limited by the EBAY platform. We were limited by the buyer's three medium comments and the bottom share (we could not resist the transportation damage, and we did the refund processing in time, but the buyer still gave us a bad comment!)
Now only before September 15 to improve the rating can only increase the store trading volume through this time (8.16-9.16)! What I'm thinking right now is that we offer a mini Stirling engine J06-E to have on the forums for sale. The lowest price is $29. (We don't make money except for processing costs and transportation costs EBAY transaction fees) as long as we can reach 50-100 transactions, we hope to recover the store.
I'd love to hear from you.
Regards,
Jin
It looks like a very fair deal to me.
We get a J06-E Stirling Cycle engine at cost in return for our good feedback.
Here is the link to Jin's offering:

I have ordered one already and will order another.

I do alot of business with PM research lately and have established some relationship with Jim McDonald who is their main point of contact with the company. He asked me recently about my Jin governors on my Hybrid plants that I built, and how they work, where to obtain them, and how much they cost. He mentioned that he gets a TON of questions about where to get them at.
So, I told him the information about Jin's eBay store and website and will now be referring customers to his eBay shop and website when he gets inquiries on fly ball governors. This should help with sales at least a little bit.

Happened to be 70% alcohol I had handy. As to runtime I only ran a short test but was having no trouble holding rpm. With experimentation I am sure a pleasing rpm setup could be fashioned.
Very encouraging, thanks for initiating the experimentation.
I think many of us are likely to start heading down that path and hopefully some will post results and methods here as well.

Here is quick try at slowing it down, note I made sure foot pads not catching any heat.

That is quite impressive actually.
How long could you keep it idling like that?
I've actually thought about raising the base so that the original burner sits quite a bit lower but haven't done anything to try that experiment as yet.
A little water in the denatured alcohol could also go some ways toward cooling the flame.

I have just modified post #1 to reflect a change requested by Jin.
The link will now take you to the J06E which is another mini Stirling Cycle Engine.

They are an absolute delight to run.
-
Good idea,Gil, I will do.
Jim
-
I will second that you will not be disappointed in Jen's engine!!!
-
Food for thought.....
eBay has demanded Jin receive 100 good feedbacks from August 16 to September 16th.
I placed good feedback on todays purchase following payment.
Given the shipping times from China, it is not likely you will receive new orders prior to September 16th.
I'll go out on a limb here... I am here to tell you that you will not be disappointed if you supply good feedback before the 16th of September and yes.... before you receive this neat little engine.

I just ordered a 3rd.
So did I ...

I just ordered a 3rd.

I got mine a week ago, ran it a few times and I am very impressed - my fourth mini Stirling engine.
Best run time so far is 24 minutes on a full tank and small flame

I just got my 1st engine, a fellow came over to look at another engine I had on marketplace...& wanted this one that I never even fired up yet, I just bought 2 more.
-
Jin, what a superb tiny engine! It is now my favorite 'Jin' engine. It is machined like the finest clock works and runs like on too! Unfortunately, I didn't use my Ebay login so I can't leave feedback. I am now ordering a 2nd one - with login - just so I can leave proper feedback (and I want another one). Thank you, Jin
-
Thank you for your support, we need to continue to have more praise, maybe we continue to launch another mini engine! Jin
-
I received mine yesterday and it was everything I expected and more thanks Jin!!!
-
Mine arrived today. As everyone knows, it's a great little engine and runs like a top. As someone who makes this kind of stuff as a hobby, it would be a tough build with the traditional manual machines as Sterling engines have very tight tolerances and the tiny size of this engine makes it that much harder. An a absolute steal at this current price!
Left positive feedback which hopefully helps.
-
2 of them arrived here yesterday.
They look awesome.
I haven't had time to run one yet.
They run absolutely fantastic, but as a caveat, be careful not to overfill the little burner and give it a reasonable cool down time before trying to touch the engine anywhere!
I fire mine in a baking tray with an insolation pad under it, and I also put a little anti-seize on the burner threads then never use those threads to fill the tank, but rather use a fine needle tip on a small hypodermic to fill the tank through the vent hole or alongside the wick.
I ordered my second one from this wonderful sale yesterday, just two days after receiving my first one, but in truth I already had two of these from much earlier in the year, so knew well what wonderful little engines they truly are!!
I may well order a third before this super deal ends, not necessarily because Christmas is coming, though gifting does come to mind, but more likely, just because!!!

I have one on the way. Never had a problem with Jin’s service on anything I have bought from him.
-
Received the first of these J06D's that I ordered from this really fantastic deal two days ago. It is most certainly a "Little Gem" of a Stirling Cycle Engine!
Just ordered another to give to a friend who has yet to be corrupted by the Steam & Stirling hobby!!! ;c)
May yet order a third, before this amazing deal comes to an end ..... just because!?!?
-
My tiny Stirling just came in and it looks and runs perfectly.
Ordered August 21st to today, August 30th - a really quick
delivery from the other side of the world.
My old engines blushed when they saw Jin's Stirling. They were
blinded by the light.

Let me say this: I've had many dealings with Jin over several years, and only ever had one problem in that association that most certainly was NOT Jin's fault in any way. He took care of it in the most equitable manner possible bearing the full cost, so I was out nothing and received a speedy replacement!
-
I bought one, could not pass it up at that price, plus I want to help also. I only have two sterling engines, with three I can call it a collection!
-
Thanks Gil. Sounds pretty cutthroat to me; I'll be there are others selling similar products who are doing this, as you said. I would never have thought 99% positive feedback would be a problem.
-
Hi Brent, eBay typically ignores people with 99.5% good feedback. In fact, I have seen ebay ignore sellers with good feedback down in the 80s or low 90s percentages. In Jin's case, I believe there is a small but vocal group of people (possibly as few as 1 or 2) who complain loudly not just with feedback but possibly with phone calls.
I noticed that while Jin opened this new channel more recently, they either imported his previous negative feedback or the disgruntled party has bought under a new user name and re-posted the same feedback. I also believe it's possible that eBay is (dare I say it) discriminating against some of those whose language is harder to translate and/or understand.
I also wonder if some of the newer sellers on ebay are attempting to step on the competition.
-
I've ordered two but don't understand what the problem is. His feedback rating is 99.6%. How is that a problem? I've never sold on Ebay so don't really know how things work.
-
Being totally new to this hobby I feel anyone I can help out is Great. I ordered mine this morning!

Bonjour Gil,
Sorry, I didn't want to spoil this thread and eBay has banned me, Jin is a good friend.

Bonjour Gil,
Thank you for this information, so does it help Jin if I go on buying things to them on eBay ?
Besides this, I have been banned from eBay UK without any possibility to come back and no reason given so, after dozen of messages very insistent and in French, I finally learned that I had been banned because... too small a buyer!!! Enough to walk on your head!
What could they control of I subscribed again with another email address...? I won't do it and I guess it is the way te haters
I don't like anonymity in all circumstances, I don't like pseudonyms and I don't like unsigned messages, that's what it comes to and Jin is not an isolated case. .
Did Jin ban you or did ebay ban you?
Either way you can have another thread for this topic as this thread is here to help Jin.
-
I just bought 1 to help Jen out I've certainly bought enough engines over the years at very good price on ebay from Jin!!!
-
I bought one yesterday. Glad to help.
-

-
I just brought one and the wife has also
Cheers

I haven't bought an engine this year ( I think) ,but I bought one.

Bonjour,
Little question, I have just bought a M20 from DJSTEAM and previously one from GALJGLG ==> who are they in relation to Jin? Authorized resellers?
They are all Jin.

I'm on board.
Good Luck, Jin!

Just ordered mine, will go nice with the mini Robinson engine and glad to help out Jin.

Howdy Gil
Nice of you to try and help out in this manner!
Perhaps sadly, I already have a couple of this model from prior purchases from Jin and I certainly didn't get them at this bargain price. I will purchase one more to try and give Jin a bit more good feedback, which I have always done anyway, through innumerable prior purchases. I suppose that having one on hand to gift to some friend might be a good idea, though I have yet to find anyone locally that shares my enthusiasms in this regard.
Still, for all that Jin and his "team" have done for me over the years, getting yet another great bargain from him may prove to be a bargain for both of us!?!?
One last thing I will say, is that the two J06D engines that I already have, are both willing runners!!!
-
One more thing.... If you get more than one, I suggest separate single purchases which allows for more good feedback.
