btw, anyone know if the spigot for the fuel is supposed to be "corked" when running or you need it to "vent" while running/firing?
Edit: Actually, I think it is supposed to be "corked". I saw another #20 / Big Giant where the spigot wasn't there but had a brass screw - like on my #14s. Though I'd be happy for someone to confirm one way or the other.

This is just a rant because USPS tracking is giving me anxiety and I realize the burner isn't "officially" slated to be delivered tomorrow. That said, here it goes so I can unload LOL
The burner is coming from Cincinnati Oh, it left on Oct 26th via USPS Ground Delivery to be delivered tomorrow, the 27th. I was very excited to see it arrive in Atlanta yesterday afternoon, which gave me hope at the time it would be here today, a day early. I am sure I jinx it thinking that LOL
Since then it has bounced between Palmetto, Ga & USPS Atlanta Network Distribution Center TWICE and then Riverdale, Ga with a arrival & departure scans 10 minutes apart this morning. This is from Sunday 4:22pm to Sunday 3:38am.
I suppose I should be thankful that the packages is being scanned and updated - so many packages don't get updated scans and then magically arrive. Though it is a concern that the scans stopped after the departure scan from Riverdale (which I think is just a post office) at 3:38am. All of these places are like 30 minutes or less of my address... its sooooo close! Ugh!
I swear if this base lamp ends up betting lost I am going to loose my mind... I have read on Reddit's this is called the "Atlanta Blackhole" were some packages cycle around in a loop, then get disappear! Ugh!!

I still can't believe the guy found it, told me he did and is mailing it to me (at no extra cost). I have sight glass supplies coming from Frank but that is going to take a minute coming from Canada. I just ordered a 1 1/2" Wick for No. 3 Burners off Amazon, I also have a weight for the pressure valve coming (the last one he had on eBay), and I need to sort out the whistle that won't screw in anymore. I more or less have decided to use 24 hour JB Weld to keep it on (forever).
All of that should line up being done right when the lamp base arrives (minus rebuilding the sight glass)! I went from not knowing if I'll ever get it fired up to having a good chance by late next week!

It’s always good to contact sellers if a burner is missing and send them a picture of what you’re talking about. So many probably end up getting tossed out because the sellers don’t know what they are… Congrats on being lucky with this one!!

That photo is with a Big Giant Engine that is for 80 bucks on eBay (I provided the photo as an example - incase I wasn't making sense). The engine has a few problems but I seen similar or better at a much better price (around $50).
However, I no longer need it as the original seller found the one for my Big Giant, he didn't realize it went with the Weeden Engine. I had sent him a eBay message that the package had arrived safely and had asked if he came across a odd looking lamp base (I provided a photo what to look out for) that would be for one of the Weeden's he sold me. What Luck! I guess that just proves it doesn't hurt to ask!
He sent me a photo of the base I'll be getting in the mail next week! YAY - Pretty lucky you think?

If that base is currently available on evilbay at anything like a reasonable price, I'd be jumping on it muy pronto! Individual parts like that are rarely to be found, especially if you are in need of one. You can always upgrade to a better one later, should you be so lucky as to have another one come along!

I am needing a base for my #20 Big Giant - which is the burner for this engine and looks much like the bottom of a old oil lamp. Right now I am not liking what I am seeing on eBay, either they aren't quite in the shape I am looking for or to complete to where I'd want to part them out.
I put some other feelers out in the world already, figured I'd post here too!
