The Earl Shilton mishap happened at the steam show there. I was running an engine on gas and my burner developed a leak, when I lit it it flared up with an almighty WOOSH resulting in me losing half my beard and one eyebrow
I don't think you'll ever live that one down Pete!, i seem to remember the following year they surrounded you with fire extinguishers!! ;D

Great work Pete - wonderful patina! Would like to know more of the provenance, especially the Earl Shilton show mishap.
