That's a nice one, Jim.

I watched your teasers on YouTube over the past few days.

Quite the conversation piece.

Cheers mate!

Mine wouldn’t run, had plenty of steam but no go… thinking one of the holes isn’t lining up but stuck it back on the shelf till I found time to look further into it…

Ah that's a bummer Nick, I reckon when you get a moment you'll sort it out quick.....I think the boys will be impressed (and you!) when you get it running :)

That runs surprisingly well considering all the shafting, linkages and even gearing for the tail rotor!

Nice!!!

Its an amazing and unique steam engine Daniel, I'm absolutely captivated with it.

That is really cool Jim, the mods you have done to/for it are really appropriate & top shelf. The "H" on the Helo pad is a perfect touch 😉😊.(dang...now I want one of these too.)

Bruce, you could probably hear how enthused I am with this steam driven helicopter in the vid mate :)

I saw one a few weeks ago and I instantly knew that life wasn't going to be the same if I didn't have one LOL :)

Its such a cool steam engine and works so well. Even people who tut tut at my engines and are nonplussed are enthralled over this one.

OKMO / Microcosm S01 Steam Powered Helicopter

Really like this helo! Had some fun in the workshop as usual making the timber plinth, drilling and countersinking the aluminium base for a brass wood screw to hold the base to the timber plinth and designing and drilling the mounting holes on my mill and turning the two tiny brass 'skid lockdowns' on my lathe. The mounting holes for those two tiny 2mm stainless screws I took really slowly and used Tap Magic, I haven't tapped a lot of 2mm holes and I did not want to break the tap. The 'skid lockdowns' should stop the helo from taking a tumble to the floor when people out of curiosity just have to have a closer look at this great looking helo.
Super impressed how its running!
