WOW, Yes, that certainly looks like a real working engine, to be sure!
Many were the makers back in the day, so identifying it may prove to be a challenge, unless you get lucky and somebody here happens to know it by sight .... a real possibility as this Forum has some incredibly knowledgeable members!

In November I have acquired another engine that I need help identifying. I picked this up on an on-line auction. The first picture is what was on the auction site. As you may notice there is no scale, measurement or any size reference at all in the auction listing. I could tell it was a fair sized motor, but I under estimated. I hoped it would be about 20" long, 24" max. Nope, it it a full 24" excluding the flywheel. OAL is about 32". And it is heavy, a good 120lb to 150lb. Not easy to get up on my workbench.
It is robust. I estimate the bore to be about 3" and the stroke is a full 4". The flywheel is 13". I put air into it and it ran nicely, smooth and quiet.
Cleary this is a work motor, not a toy or a model. I have not cleaned it up yet, but I have found no identifying name or number anywhere, but maybe I will still find something.
Anyone have any idea what this motor may be or made by?
