These so-called inventors would have done much better for a tiny fraction of the amount of money if they built these as small scale models (builder's models) to gain proof of concept. They would have learned very early on, for far less money, and time that these concepts would never work as desired. Then they could have been done with and move on to invent something more useful. That fellow with the 100' single tube roller ship must have been smoking something to think that an 800' ship would work any better.

an interesting morning watch, how people got funding or support for such outlandish vessels is astonishing to me, some people are so gullible.but heck...I never thought people would actually "PAY" for water  :D
