..... and now, only four pages of thread and a few months later, he has "finished" the engine and will start working on the tender.

Here is a link to that fourth page, however, be sure and scroll down to the last few photos on that page to see the completed engine!

It is amazing how much of his machining work he has managed to detail in photos along the way in this thread.

Some people are just so talented and capable it makes a duffer like me positively blush!!!

Hey All

I have run across what looks to be a rather amazing machining and build thread on another forum (My Large Scale forum on their Live Steam board). I can think of no other way to share it here than to link directly to it. If there is a problem with that, then please feel free to delete this posting and I'll not be offended in the least. No harm, no foul!

It is a scale model build of a large scale, live steam locomotive, a Southern Pacific AM-2 class articulated engine from the mid-1920's.

Obviously, this machinist is not intimidated by the sheer size and complexity of this build and is doing what appears to be a good job of photographing many of the steps and operations along the path to completion. So far this is quite early in the build, so I would expect this thread to go on for quite some time to come, thus checking back regularly should reveal new postings.

It can be found here:
