It makes me want to pull my hair out.
As others have said, the worst packing job ever.
-
it didnt have a chance.... :(
-
@Nick, i feel your pain; happened to me many times already. These sellers should be punished to the fullest. Good luck!
-
Wow, Nick! I’d file a claim and try to get your money back. If that guy had a brain, he’d take it out and play with it!
-
The worst I've ever seen. You ought to be able to get all
your money back. When you said it was a good price, would
you have paid half of what you did for the pile of rubble
in the box? As for me, it would be a total waste and would
want all my $$$ back plus $$$ to ship it back. I've had a
couple of broken parts due to bad shipping but nothing like
your pictures show. A disgrace. When all is done let us know
the seller so we can avoid the little @#$%^!
Good Luck,
Wayne

Holy cow, what a d.....bag. Can you tell us what his eBay seller name is so we can watch out for him?
Have never seen nor ever want to see something like that.
-
Wow, that doesn't make any sense! I am pretty sure a 10 year old could have done a better job boxing it up.
-
That is one of the worst shipments I've seen, what an absolute Moron ! I've had sellers cram too much into too little a box....but to just cut line/cords & pitch it all into a box is inexcusable, I'd file a claim, get my money back & send it right back to him in the same way he shipped it. (it is unsalable now) as you said, shame about ruining a good engine. :-\
-
Wow, that's just horrible! Like you said, it's such a shame that a nice, older engine gets completely destroyed by an idiot seller. It also takes a set of nuts to blame you as well. It's so unfortunate that fools rarely self-diagnose.
Get your money back and burn them in the feedback.

Ouch!
What a terrible seller.
-
Yikes & Ouch!!!

He’s blaming me for not being specific enough (or pacific as he wrote) when I said remove it from the gray board that it is screwed to. He thought that meant take the steam engine apart and off its metal base. He said he brought the box to the post office and asked them if they could make it fit and they said they could 😡
He said he still has the metal base and will send it, I guess we will see… hopefully he ships it a little faster than todays arrival to get this over with!
The price was cheap and the shipping was too cheap! As they say, if it’s too good to be true… 😞 I am more upset about an old, good condition engine being ruined than me getting ripped off
-
I know the tools likely have zinc pest so was expecting a chance of those breaking, but he didn’t even give them a chance!
He claims USPS packed it for him and said they wrote “fragile” on the box 🙄

This is why I was worried about the package, metal clanging as the carrier handed it to me 😡
First picture is what I purchased followed by what arrived… 😡 😡
Seller said it was too expensive to ship and was going to refund my money and sell it locally. I said no, send me what I paid. It will be cheaper if you take everything off the base it is screwed to and wrap it individually. I was assured it would be packed well… people are morons! He “disassembled” more like destroyed the engine to fit it in the box! Cut the steam lines and wires and NOTHING was wrapped!!

Well, that is good news in regard to the $$$$. The package will probably
arrive PDQ just to spite your annoyance.

It was purchased through eBay with PayPal, so no worry about a refund there… just worried how and when everything is going to arrive! 😂
-
I'm sorry for your predicament and have been there myself with an overseas engine
ebay purchase from France coming my way. Never received it and it wound up back in France.
$$$$'s refunded.
I am curious....Is the seller a member of any steam oriented site? Can you get
your money back if you never get your purchase?
Good Luck,
Wayne

Made it back to St Paul yesterday, same place that it was at on Saturday!
While I am used to strange tracking, and it’s something I usually don’t even watch, this package has me a little more anxious for its arrival… the seller had the shipping way to cheap for a large engine with a bunch of accessories mounted to a huge board. I asked if he was going to remove them before shipping, but he said no, it would be packed well… a few days later I get a message telling me he is going to cancel the sale and re-list it locally… I told him I want what I paid for, and asked him to remove the items from the huge board and wrap them all up and carefully put in a box together. He assured me again that everything would be packed well and arrive safely… now this is happening with the tracking! 😂

I think we've all had packages go far astray & wonder how that could possibly be. 🙄

I tell you what, here in Atlanta the USPS is beyond the suck. I can have a package travel from Canada in 2~3 days to get here to the "new" USPS Georgia hub (which is about 30 minutes from me in Midtown) and get stuck there for two weeks. Doesn't matter if it is a Priority or Ground package. When I have any choice, I'll select UPS, FedEx or beg (more or less) a eBay seller to up-charge me to said shippers. Heck, I had a Priority package from NC take nearly 3 weeks to get to me in Midtown Atlanta!
Back in Austin Texas, I wouldn't say USPS worked like a clock but I 100% would call it reliable (plus my postman there gave me his cell number for any issues!!). Though I did hear that Houston's USPS hub was dismal.
Hope you get it okay! Nothing like watching the tracking and wondering, WTF!
Oh, good case of USPS working: My brother's eBay Weeden left NY via USPS Ground on Friday and he is getting it today. See, USPS can work - if it's not coming to Georgia!

I had a calendar sent to me from within my same state that took seven months before it showed up. Heaven only knows where it went, to spend all that lost time, but it did have some rather serious tire tracks on it when it finally got to me!?!?
I've also had some stuff that came from the East Coast, get to within about 100 miles of me, only to be sent back to the East Coast and have to start the journey all over again!?!?
-
Nick:
I think your package got put on the wrong truck!

I ordered a book from Kentucky and it hit all states surrounding Illinois before making it here. I think it crossed the state twice.
-
Tracking says “out for delivery”… “A” is where it started, “C” is where it was over the weekend and “D” is where it’s at today??? Red star is where it’s supposed to be!!! Maybe shipping would be cheaper if they cut down some travel 😉
